What happens when you reluctantly turn the lens on yourself?
What does it mean to be seen and heard?
What is silenced by perception?
In this first solo installation by interdisciplinary artist Tanya Louise Workman, suspended images on backlit film are paired with fragments from intimate audio diaries. While many of the images arose during a “Personal Story” photography workshop, the voice recordings came later, as Tanya began to question what her photographs really communicated – to others and to herself – and what exists for all of us both inside and outside the frame
