Personal support worker Heather Chase hangs out with Griffin Martel, on her lap, Devan Pawa Larsen, Kieran Hazlehurst and Joseph Li on one of the camp’s in-ground trampolines. 2011 was Heather’s second year at camp with Griffin, who has an undiagnosed seizure disorder and developmental delay. His first year at camp, Griffin really liked the trampoline and treehouse, Heather says. “But I have to say this past summer it seemed that Griffin really enjoyed the ropes course.” Griffin’s mom, Alysone, is glad that she can send her son to camp so he can have a “big boy” experience. “I mean, even just being around the other kids who are more able to run around and do the wall climbing and things like that, he has a sense that he’s part of it. He’s with kids who also have their challenges, so everyone fits in."
