When it came time for Benjamin Lohner to go to camp for the first time, his mom, Tamara Hodgson, knew from personal experience where to send him. In 2000. Tamara had spent a summer at the camp as its waterfront programmer. So she understood first-hand that a week at Shawnigan would be a “week of fun” for Benjamin, and that he would be well taken care of. “I knew what Benjamin would get from this experience was – freedom. Freedom to be as loud as he wanted! To sing and dance and laugh all day.”
